Tayside Senior Swimming Championships
2014 date TBC Perth Leisure Pool
This event takes place each year at Perth Leisure Pool and is open to swimmers with physical and learning disabilities and visual impairments. Primary and secondary school children are also invited to attend but only swimmers over the age of 15 years (physical disability) and 16 years (learning disability) are eligible to qualify for the Scottish Senior Swimming Championships.
Family Activity Days
Young people with disabilities and their families are invited to take part in activities together with other families. Activities on offer will be varied and standard activities such as boccia, indoor curling and, ball games/skittles will also be on offer. The sessions will take place between 10am-12noon at North Inch Community Campus, Perth. Costs are £3 for 2 people to attend or £5 for a family of more than 2 people. Kathleen Gardiner Team Swim Gala
TBC 2013 Perth Leisure Pool
This event took place for the first time in November 2008 and was organised in memory of dedicated Perth & Kinross Disability Sport Chairperson Kathleen Gardiner who died in November 2006. Teams of all ages and disabilities from across Tayside are invited to attend and compete for a salver with a fun relay taking place at the end.
Perth & Kinross Disability Sport also support Perth & Kinross Council to host the following school events:
- Tayside Schools Swimming Championships when hosted in Perth (alternates between Perth & Kinross, Angus and Dundee each year). In 2013, the event will be hosted by Perth & Kinross Council at Breadalbane Community Campus 24 September 2013
- Sportshall Athletics 2014 date TBC. Bell's Sports Centre
- Inter-school Athletics 2014 date TBC. TBC George Duncan Athletics Arena
