Volunteering

If you are interested in working with people who have a disability as a volunteer and are keen to broaden your experience, then we would like to hear from you - please download the application form.  You may be a person who has a genuine interest in working with disability sport groups, be a college/university student or senior school pupil, already coaches in a sports club, be a parent or relative of a child/adult with a disability, be an active or retired athlete with a disability or work in a disability environment.

You could volunteer to:

  • Coach participants in their chosen sport
  • Be a sports ‘buddy’
  • Play an active non-sporting role in our charity e.g. fundraising, recruiting volunteers, marketing

You would receive appropriate support and training for any role you would like to undertake and coach education courses are available throughout the year, e.g.

  • Sports Coach UK Workshops
    • How to Coach Disabled People in Sport
    • Coaching Disabled Performers
    • Safeguarding and Protecting Children
  • Emergency First Aid
  • Sport specific e.g. Athletics – ‘Coaching Athletes with a Disability’

There will be a requirement for PVG Scheme Membership for some roles and we operate a Policy on the Recruitment of Ex-Offenders
